Overview
The Associate Programme Management Officer is responsible for the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programmes and operations, including donor outreach, policy, external relations, and coordination of training activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the development, implementation, and evaluation of specialized training programmes/projects and new initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze deployment data of Troop Contributing Countries and Police Contributing Countries.
- Prepare relevant documents and reports, and identify problems and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct research on programmes, operations, and activities.
- Provide substantive and technical support for policy coordination and evaluation functions.
- Plan and facilitate high-level workshops and interactive sessions.
- Participate in survey initiatives, assist with data collection tool design, and analyze responses.
- Monitor programme/project activities and translate data into written reports or presentations.
- Prepare various written outputs, including draft background papers and analytical notes.
- Provide substantive support to consultative meetings and conferences.
- Undertake outreach activities and participate in resource mobilization forums.
- Participate in field missions, providing substantive and administrative support.
- Coordinate activities related to budget funding and donor negotiations.
- Contribute to the collection and analysis of data, identifying trends and providing insights.
Required Experience
- A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in donor relations, resource mobilization in an outreach, management and implementation capacity, as it relates to training and capacity building within a peacekeeping environment is required.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience coordinating donor negotiations for voluntary contributions, managing grants, budget implementation, contingent owned equipment (COE) and performance reporting is required.
- Relevant experience in the UN common system or comparable international organization is required.
- Experience with developing outreach content for X, LinkedIn and other social media platforms as well as drafting articles that highlight the impact of the project/programme’s training and events is required.
- Experience with drafting, reviewing and editing a wide range of materials for senior leaderships, including speeches, remarks, articles, interviews, lectures, video messages, talking points, strategic documents, Note Verbales, PowerPoint presentations amongst others is required.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience using data analysis or business intelligence approaches and tools for informing high-level decision making is desirable.
Qualifications
- An advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent degree) in Peace and Security, International Relations, Business Administration or related field is required. A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in Peace and Security, International Relations, Business Administration or a related field with two (2) years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A first-level university degree and no experience will be accepted for candidates who have passed the United Nations Young Professionals Programme Examination (YPP), the United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE) or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P).
- PRINCE2 Practitioner or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
