Overview
The Civil Engineer (Waterproofing Specialist) will support the review of design and construction activities, ensuring projects are on budget and meet quality standards, while incorporating best practices in technical design and construction management.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical support in the analysis of engineering projects and works, focusing on waterproofing solutions, suggesting adjustments to projects and/or the execution of activities, when necessary;
- Technical support in monitoring project recipients, providing technical assistance in engineering areas with a focus on waterproofing;
- Technical support in reviewing all documents related to projects and project licensing;
- Technical support in reviewing engineering project budgets with a focus on waterproofing, analysis of requests for project changes;
- Technical support in proposing solutions for the execution of works for food storage units;
- Support in the execution of projects to ensure that standards, regulations and plans are respected, including safety and health plans, environmental plans and social actions and quality plans;
- Participate in project planning, monitoring and evaluation meetings, when requested.
Required Experience
- Relevant experience includes work in civil engineering with a focus on waterproofing or related areas.
- Work experience in multicultural environments or in United Nations system organizations in developing countries is desirable.
- Experience in development or humanitarian contexts is desirable.
Qualifications
- Required Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or related fields, with 2 years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree (or equivalent) in building waterproofing or related areas allows for the substitution of years of experience.
- Desirable Recognized professional certification or membership in a civil engineering association, at national or international level, is desirable.
