Overview

Associate (Research) role supporting the MoEFCC (National Project Management Unit) in the implementation of a GEF-7 project focused on sustainable management and restoration of degraded landscapes.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with technical tasks such as data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Conduct research and prepare outputs such as technical documents/reports, presentations, and publications.
  • Support in the implementation and tracking of project activities.
  • Ensure regular communication and coordination with relevant units and stakeholders.
  • Prepare National/State-specific Annual Work Plans.
  • Coordinate and participate in project meetings.
  • Responsible for coordination and follow-up of project activities with technical agencies and organizations.
  • Provide logistical support for workshops and other meetings.
  • Support the timely preparation and submission of various project reports.
  • Support in development and implementation of communication strategy and action plan.
  • Provide technical input to project activities.
  • Handle routine correspondence and communication.
  • Provides administrative and operation support during project implementation.
  • Analyse the situation in project(s) implementation, identify operational and financial problems, develop solutions.
  • Stay updated on recent research developments relevant to the project.
  • Perform other technical and research related tasks as assigned.
Required Experience
  • At least three years of experience in research, documentation or related areas;
  • Ability to aggregate and synthesize research literature and extract key messages and arguments;
  • Experience of working in domain of climate change adaptation and mitigation, natural resource management, biodiversity conservation, ecosystem & land restoration will be an added advantage;
  • Excellent analytic and writing skills;
  • Excellent coordination and network skills;
  • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners;
  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment;
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines;
  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, among others), email, and internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Science, Social Sciences, Commerce, Economics, Environmental Management and related field.

Remuneration
• Monthly Voluntary Living Allowance (VLA): INR 70,158.41 • Entry lump sum (one-time payment): USD 350 (equivalent in INR) • Relocation costs: $175 at beginning and end of assignment if duty station is outside of commuting distance • Exit allowance (paid on successful completion of the assignment): USD 120 for each month served, paid on completion of contract • Insurance: Comprehensive coverage for health, life and malicious acts • Annual leave: 2.5 days per month • Learning: Access to UNV's learning and career development resources
