Overview
The Risk and Compliance Manager ensures compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines within the country, providing operational and administrative support to risk management principals to improve risk management in program and country operation analytics and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, plan and implement capacity building plans on risk management and accountability commitments.
- Support the dissemination of the Risk Management Framework.
- Conduct training on the DRC Risk Management Framework.
- Ensure Risk Matrix is updated regularly.
- Review and ensure updated compliance and accountability improvement plan.
- Support and evaluate areas of compliance risk while populating risk registers and recommending corrective actions.
- Provide feedback to line managers for action after internal reviews.
- Work with operations department to ensure DRC policies and procedures are relevant, communicated, and implemented.
- Build capacity of team members by conducting and/or coordinating training.
- Assist field and country offices in developing recommendations and action points to improve on gaps identified.
- Lead on compliance training and responding to compliance issues.
- Lead on internal and external audits.
- Maintain a log of unresolved audit findings/recommendation and their implementation status.
- Maintain a requirement of basic documents under each category of spending.
- Monitor DRC Sudan compliance with DRC COCRM global standards.
- Analyze trends from CoC reporting mechanisms and provide management with recommendations.
- Supervise the CoC reporting procedures.
- Support the training of the investigation team.
- Investigate allegations of irregularities, fraud, corruption or other forms of misconduct.
- Notify and advise the SMT on all risks and compliance issues.
- Manage the Risk and Compliance Officers and Assistants.
- Develop and deliver staff awareness initiatives on risk management, compliance obligations, and reporting procedures.
Required Experience
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in Audit, Risk Management or Compliance in humanitarian or development sector.
- Experience as an auditor is beneficial.
