Overview
The Accountability Officer will oversee the implementation of Accountability to Affected Population (AAP) and the Community Feedback Mechanism (CFM) at the country level, ensuring the reception, documentation, and processing of complaints in line with standard operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update CFM awareness-raising content and disseminate materials.
- Conduct trainings on Code of Conduct (CoC), CFM, and Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) for staff and partners.
- Supervise CFM functions, ensuring timely data entry and referral of feedback.
- Develop regular CFM reports and provide narrative updates on AAP activities.
- Support the MEAL Manager in proposal development, budget identification, and updating the Accountability Framework and SOPs.
- Ensure accountability SOPs are up-to-date, translated into Arabic, and shared.
- Support CHS self-assessment and contribute to improvement plans.
- Coordinate with staff and partners to improve accountability practices and CFM accessibility.
- Conduct visits to operation areas to refresh staff on accountability principles.
- Lead capacity building of partners on CFM procedures and identify training needs.
- Participate in external AAP Working Groups.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the MEAL Manager.
Required Experience
- A minimum of two years of experience in a relief or development NGO in a similar role.
- Previous experience working in accountability.
- Previous experience conducting trainings and delivering capacity building.
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in business administration, social work, social sciences, humanities or other relevant discipline is required.
