Overview

The Data Analytics & Visualization Specialist will support the Institution in strengthening the accessibility and usability of internal service mapping information and data emerging from family needs assessments by developing information management tools and visualizations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deploy functional, user-friendly dashboards and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Clean, structure, and document datasets for analysis and updates.
  • Define core indicators, filters, and reporting views for service mapping and family needs analysis.
  • Create visual products (charts, infographics, maps) for internal reporting and external communication.
  • Provide guidance notes on data management, dashboard maintenance, and update procedures.
  • Deliver basic training sessions to staff on using and maintaining dashboards and tools.
  • Review available datasets, metadata, and existing reporting products.
  • Assess data quality, structure, completeness, and limitations.
  • Support the structuring, cleaning, and organization of data.
  • Propose core indicators, filters, disaggregation fields, and reporting views.
  • Define the logic and structure for data organization, analysis, and presentation.
  • Develop interactive data visualization tools and dashboards.
  • Design user-friendly formats for understanding service coverage, gaps, and geographic distribution.
  • Develop visualization features to track and analyze engagement with service providers and referrals.
  • Ensure tools and dashboards are dynamic and easily updated.
  • Develop visual products for external reporting and presentations.
  • Provide guidance on sustainable approaches for maintaining and updating data and dashboards.
  • Support internal capacity building for staff.
  • Clean Relativity when necessary for better data extraction.
Required Experience

A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in data analysis, information management, or dashboard development is required. Experience in designing and implementing dashboards and interactive reporting tools is required, preferably using Power BI. Experience in data cleaning, structuring, metadata review, and data quality assessments is desirable. Experience in service mapping, referral systems, social services, education, health, child protection, or humanitarian/development sectors is desirable. Experience producing reports, presentation-ready visuals, and external reporting materials is desirable. Experience supporting organizational adoption of data tools, including training, documentation, and handover processes is desirable.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree in Statistics, Public Policy, Social Sciences, Information Systems, Computer Science, Economics, Monitoring & Evaluation, or a related field. A first level university degree in one of the above fields with two years of additional relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Professional certification in Power BI, Tableau, or Monitoring & Evaluation is desirable.
