Overview

The Protection Associate (AVM) will be responsible for the implementation of IOM Protection activities in Tripoli, focusing on protection monitoring, case management, and referrals for vulnerable populations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake protection monitoring visits to identify needs and provide case management services.
  • Assist in providing high quality and timely case management services.
  • Identify and refer vulnerable cases for voluntary humanitarian return (VHR) and follow up on procedures.
  • Assist in updating service mapping and respond to emergency cases.
  • Provide support in Protection trainings, roundtables and workshops.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of cases and complete data entry and reporting requirements.
  • Participate in relevant meetings.
  • Serve as the designated escort for individuals involved in protection cases and return movements.
  • Carry out responsibilities in full adherence to protection principles, IOM gender and PSEA policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of three years professional experience in the field of Protection and assistance to vulnerable populations.
  • Knowledge of Case Management Software.
Qualifications
  • Completed university degree from an accredited academic institution in Political or Social Sciences, Development Studies, Social Work, Human Rights, International Relations or Law, or other relevant field with three years of relevant professional experience, or
  • High School diploma with five years of relevant professional experience.

Languages Required
Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
Languages Preferred
Working knowledge of French is an advantage.
