Overview
Support financial/accounting and administrative tasks for the Afghanistan Resident Mission (AFRM) and Guest House (AFGH).
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare AFGH income statements, daily vouchers and attach supporting documents for signature; translate supporting documents from local to English.
- Carry out AFGH daily/periodic banking functions (deposits, withdrawals, and reconciliation) and disbursements for AFRM's operational and administrative activities, including payment and recording of staff salaries, payment for contractual services, purchases of office equipment and supplies, travel expenditures, and payments of utilities.
- Receive POS transactions from international staff residents and guest house guests.
- Act as an alternate AFRM Financial Management Accounting System (FMAS) Processor, prepare vouchers, receipts, and other supporting documentation for AFRM and AFGH financial transactions, according to ADB guidelines and procedures.
- Help prepare monthly accounting reports for the Controllers Department and ad hoc reports as requested by the AFRM management and ADB headquarters.
- Assist senior local staff of the Finance and Administration (F&A) team in reviewing business travel documents and processing business travel payments for AFRM staff.
- Assist senior local staff of the F&A team in preparing supporting documentation from internal and external claims, payments and various other accounting transactions following defined ADB procedures and guidelines; processes transactions through preparation of appropriate disbursement or journal vouchers or other relevant payment documentation.
- Log and file incoming mails and documents and distribute to concerned staff.
- Provide reception services by dealing with visitors and queries from internal/external parties.
- Help draft procurement reports for finance and administrative matters.
- Prepare quarterly report of directly hired contractual staff.
- Check and prepare overtime sheets for janitorial and drivers.
- Perform any other duties as may be required and reflected in the incumbent's work plan.
Required Experience
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in a private, public sectors or international organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, financing, economics, or relevant fields.
