This role focuses on geospatial analytics and applications to enhance the capacity of Central Asian countries in using Earth Observation and geospatial tools for drought and crop monitoring.
Proven experience in the development of innovative applications using geospatial, Earth observation, and/or other spatial datasets is required. Experience in designing and delivering training programmes to culturally diverse audiences, including government officials, practitioners, and technical specialists, is a strong asset. Demonstrated competence in designing, implementing, and facilitating technical and capacity-building activities.
A university degree in science, engineering, or a related field, with specialization relevant to one or more of the six priority themes of the Asia‑Pacific Plan of Action on Space Applications for Sustainable Development (2018–2030). Academic training or research directly focused on disaster risk reduction and resilience is considered a strong asset.
