Overview

The Associate Information Systems Officer participates in preparing user requirements, assists in the design, development, and maintenance of reporting dashboards, and undertakes analysis of system modules. The role involves developing enhancements, designing small systems, and managing user acceptance testing.


Key Responsibilities
  • Participates in preparing user requirements and technical specifications.
  • Assists in the design, development and maintenance of reporting dashboards.
  • Undertakes analysis of system modules, develops enhancements and new features.
  • Designs and implements small, stand-alone systems.
  • Prepares, documents, and manages user acceptance testing (UAT) scripts.
  • Maintains assigned system portions, including configuration and support.
  • Ensures data security and integrity.
  • Prepares, updates and maintains system documentation and manuals.
  • Assists in the set-up and monitoring of software performance measures.
  • Participates in functional and technical support.
  • Facilitates communications between OICT and clients.
  • Drafts training materials and conducts training sessions.
  • May provide guidance to new/junior staff.
  • Contributes to data collection, analysis, and identification of trends.
Required Experience

A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in the planning, design, development, implementation and maintenance of computer information systems or related area is required. 1 year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable. Experience in the development and configuration of PeopleSoft learning management technologies is desirable. Experience in content management and knowledge management platforms is desirable. Experience in classroom training or facilitation is desirable. Experience in the software development process of the United Nations Common System is desirable.

Qualifications

An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics, or a related field is required. A relevant first-level university degree in the above fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A first-level university degree and no experience will be accepted for candidates who have passed the Young Professionals Programme Examination (YPP) or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P). Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics, or data science programs is an advantage.
