Overview
International Consultant (Anti Trafficking in Person Expert) to strengthen the capacity of the Malagasy government to better detect, investigate and prosecute TIP and CST.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver five (05) five-days basic training workshop on TIP case indicators for Malagasy police and gendarmerie.
- Deliver four (04) five-days basic training workshop on TIP case management for Malagasy Anti-TIP Unit and TIP focal point prosecutors.
- Deliver five (05) five-days basic training workshop on data collection and reporting for Malagasy frontline officers and the national Anti-TIP Bureau.
- Develop guideline/SOPs for investigators and prosecutors on CSE and CST cases.
- Develop a Madagascar anti-TIP NPA (III) for submission and validation to national counterparts.
Required Experience
- A minimum of five years of relevant working experience in programme or project management support, technical assistance in TIP and SOM or related areas, is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of UNODC mandate and Eastern Africa region areas is required.
- Experience in conducting research in crime prevention and criminal justice issues. or a directly related field is required.
- Previous work experience with the UN or other International Organizations is desirable.
Qualifications
• Advanced university degree in criminology, law, political sciences, development, sociology or related discipline is required; A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
