Overview

The Social and Behavior Change and Innovation Specialist provides technical and operational support for developing and implementing evidence-based strategies to promote measurable behavioral and social change. The role contributes to integrating innovative and technology-enabled approaches within SBC programming to improve programme design, implementation, and monitoring.


Key Responsibilities
  • Generate and utilize research, data, and evidence to inform the design, measurement, and monitoring of SBC programs and outcomes.
  • Design, plan, and implement SBC activities backed by social and behavioural evidence and strong engagement mechanisms.
  • Advocate for SBC, mobilize resources, coordinate across stakeholders, sectors, and teams, and build partnerships.
  • Promote continuous learning, strengthening, and scaling up in SBC through capacity building for UNICEF staff and partners.
Required Experience

5 years of relevant work experience in Social and Behavior Change, Communication, Social development programme planning, Communication for development (C4D), Community engagement, Public advocacy or another related area.

Qualifications

Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in Economics, Communications, International Business Relations, Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, Public Policy, Social and Behavioral Sciences or another relevant technical field.

Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language.
