Overview

Assists in the coordination of programme/project planning and preparation, monitors programme/project proposals, and compiles and summarizes programme/project data. Serves as a focal point for administrative coordination of programme/project implementation activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assists in the coordination of programme/project planning and preparation.
  • Monitors status of programme/project proposals and receipt of relevant documentation.
  • Compiles, summarizes, and presents basic information/data on specific programmes/projects.
  • Reviews project documents, especially cost plans/budgets, for completeness and compliance.
  • Formats official reports to the Human Rights Council (HRC) and General Assembly (GA).
  • Serves as focal point for administrative coordination of programme/project implementation activities.
  • Supports the Section Chief/Unit Coordinator by organizing schedules, drafting correspondence, and updating work-plans.
  • Drafts correspondence on budget-related issues and prepares periodic reports.
  • Provides general office assistance and responds to information requests.
  • Organizes meetings and workshops.
  • Provides guidance/training to new/junior staff.
  • Assists with the collection and analysis of data and preparation of data presentations.
  • Assists with visualizations and updating information material.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Experience

At least five (5) years of administrative experience, programme or project administration, technical cooperation or related area is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to three (3) for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Out of the five (5) years, at least three (3) years of experience within the United Nations common system or similar international organization, is desirable. Experience with word processing, spreadsheets and communication software is desirable. Experience in providing support to senior-level officials is desirable.

High school diploma or equivalent.
