Overview

Provide support to independent evaluations and carry out related administrative and evaluation activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning, preparation, and conduct of independent project, programme and strategic evaluations.
  • Support the preparation of evaluation terms of reference, draft job descriptions for consultants, and design questionnaires and surveys.
  • Prepare evaluation field missions and coordinate with Field Offices and stakeholders.
  • Arrange and facilitate evaluation interviews, meetings, briefings, debriefings and presentations.
  • Support the processing, compilation and presentation of qualitative and quantitative evaluation data.
  • Assist in finalizing evaluation reports, including preparing annexes, tables, financial data, light-editing, formatting, and generating charts, dashboards, and infographics.
  • Prepare Management Response Sheets (MRSs) and track the implementation of recommendations and Management Action Plans (MAPs).
  • Provide logistical and administrative support in the organization of workshops.
  • Administer the process for recruitment of consultants and maintain the evaluation consultants’ database.
  • Monitor budgetary resources and expenditures and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Provide assistance in the preparation of legislative documents and input to annual reports.
  • Draft EIO/IEU evaluation news and routine correspondence.
  • Carry out ad-hoc assignments.
Required Experience

A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant work experience is required. If in possession of a first-level university degree or higher, a minimum of five years of relevant work experience is required. Experience in providing support to managerial/professional staff and using administrative skills to assist in the execution of project and programme development and implementation of work is required. Experience/proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required. Experience in office procedures and practices, preferably within the UN system or in a multicultural environment, is required.

Qualifications

Completed secondary education, high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Languages Preferred
Fluency and/or working knowledge of another official UN language, particularly Arabic, French and/or Spanish is highly desirable.
