Overview
The Information Management Junior Officer will support the strengthening of the mission’s Information Management framework by assisting with the deployment of the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM), overseeing data governance, and ensuring alignment with global IOM Data Protection Protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to aligning data priorities and architecture with the IOM Global Data Strategy.
- Support the enforcement of IOM Data Protection Protocols.
- Provide technical guidelines to sub-offices for IM practices.
- Contribute to data workflow integrity and report validation.
- Support the deployment of the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM).
- Optimize the M&E Dashboard.
- Support the mainstreaming of data requirements across programs.
- Contribute to the design and management of electronic data collection forms.
- Transform raw data into visual and analytical products.
- Process qualitative data and narrative lessons learned.
- Support data gap analyses and impact visualizations.
- Support the production of strategic maps, infographics, and statistical reports.
Required Experience
- 1 month Donor priorities.
- Demonstrated interest or experience (up to 12 months) in Information Management, Data Analysis, or Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) in humanitarian or development contexts.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in Data visualization and creating interactive dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
- Demonstrated interest or experience in Designing and deploying mobile data collection tools (Kobo Toolbox, ODK, or Survey123).
- Familiarity with the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) or similar large-scale humanitarian assessment methodologies is a distinct advantage.
- Knowledge Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for humanitarian mapping is an asset.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in (currently enrolled or recent graduate) in Data Science, Statistics, Information Management, Geography (GIS), Computer Science, or a related field (e.g., Social Sciences with a strong quantitative focus).
