Overview

The Logistics and Procurement Officer is responsible for all procurement of goods and services in Jonglei state, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to policies.


Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Implement delegated procurement support function portfolio according to plan of action
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  • Ensure proper filing of documents
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function
  • Provide guidance and advice to program team on procurement policies related issues at field level
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and service according to specifications in the purchase requisitions
  • Enforce transparent and open procurement process for NRC to obtain the best value for money
  • Implement internal controls and procedures designed to ensure strict compliance with NRC Logistics Handbook
  • Ensure all Purchase Requisitions from the field are well tracked in the system and share status of PRs with programs and management weekly
  • Ensure supplier database is updated and NRC has a list of diversified competitive vendors; nonperforming vendors are blacklisted in order to avoid loss
  • Perform performance management for procurement team
  • Ensure Digital Procurement System (DPS) is setup and functioning in the state and engage suppliers and service providers on DPS
  • Monitor and record assets movement and allocations
  • Set clear performance objectives in the system and monitor process to meet deadline
  • Adhere to any other duties and responsibilities as delegated by the line manager
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in logistics and procurement preferably with an international NGO in emergency or post-conflict context.
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Logistics and supply chain systems management, development studies, or related field.
  • Bachelor's Degree

Arabic and local languages are advantage

7 months; 1st June – 31st December 2026
Work Modality
10% travel to field locations in the state
