Overview
The Communications Specialist will support the Ministry of Human Rights with communications, outreach, and advocacy efforts for the Huqooq–e–Pakistan II project.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive communication strategy for the project, including stakeholder mapping, audience segmentation, and targeted messaging.
- Implement the communication strategy across various platforms, developing and overseeing the production of key communication materials.
- Coordinate with relevant federal ministries and provincial human rights departments for joint communications initiatives.
- Manage media outreach, including drafting press materials and engaging with journalists.
- Support the organization of public events, conferences, and workshops.
- Track, measure, and report on the performance of communication efforts.
- Monitor the effectiveness of communication activities and contribute to documentation of best practices and lessons learned.
- Develop case studies, success stories, and testimonials from beneficiaries and stakeholders.
Required Experience
- Work experience at the national and/or international level in communications, preferably with human rights, law, or governance.
- Demonstrated track record in supporting organizations in the development sector, or public or private sector, preferably in the areas of communications, human rights, or corporate social responsibility.
- Previous proven experience in managing communication or advocacy efforts campaign in the development sector context, preferable in the areas of governance, human rights, or social programs.
- Proven ability to build and manage stakeholder relationships.
- Experience working with the UN or other international development organization is an asset.
- Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel.
- Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment.
- Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations, Psychology, Social Sciences, Development Studies or any relevant field.
