Overview

The Communications Specialist will support the Ministry of Human Rights with communications, outreach, and advocacy efforts for the Huqooq–e–Pakistan II project.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a comprehensive communication strategy for the project, including stakeholder mapping, audience segmentation, and targeted messaging.
  • Implement the communication strategy across various platforms, developing and overseeing the production of key communication materials.
  • Coordinate with relevant federal ministries and provincial human rights departments for joint communications initiatives.
  • Manage media outreach, including drafting press materials and engaging with journalists.
  • Support the organization of public events, conferences, and workshops.
  • Track, measure, and report on the performance of communication efforts.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of communication activities and contribute to documentation of best practices and lessons learned.
  • Develop case studies, success stories, and testimonials from beneficiaries and stakeholders.
Required Experience
  • Work experience at the national and/or international level in communications, preferably with human rights, law, or governance.
  • Demonstrated track record in supporting organizations in the development sector, or public or private sector, preferably in the areas of communications, human rights, or corporate social responsibility.
  • Previous proven experience in managing communication or advocacy efforts campaign in the development sector context, preferable in the areas of governance, human rights, or social programs.
  • Proven ability to build and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience working with the UN or other international development organization is an asset.
  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel.
  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations, Psychology, Social Sciences, Development Studies or any relevant field.

Remuneration
Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of PKR 183,920 is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities and normal cost of living expenses. Life health and permanent disability insurance are included (health insurance for up to 3 dependents), as well as final repatriation (if applicable) and resettlement allowance for satisfactory service.
