Overview
Provide technical advice and quality assurance for planning, monitoring, and reporting documents, including donor reports, to strengthen results-based planning and reporting skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Consolidate and edit planning documents to improve information quality.
- Review donor reports (narrative and financial) for quality, consistency with agreements, RBM standards, and UN Women requirements.
- Review annual and six-monthly reports for compliance with corporate guidance.
- Liaise with project managers or focal points for necessary information or clarifications.
- Edit, revise, and format reports to produce high-quality, reader-friendly, results-based documents.
- Provide technical assistance/quality assurance for six-monthly and annual reporting for Country Offices/National Partner Programmes and support the RO’s annual reporting process.
- Prepare specific report or reporting-related feedback/analysis for UN Women offices.
- Provide direct feedback and coaching to project managers and monitoring and reporting focal points.
- Act as a trainer for regional PMR policy/procedure training.
- Collect and package lessons learned in reporting for sharing and tool development.
- Conduct capacity building sessions and/or report writing workshops.
- Carry out “Tier assessments” by reviewing donor reports of Tier 1 COs and draft assessment reports.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of high-level experience in reporting and communicating complex programmatic information/results in reader-friendly formats and styles in English.
- Professional experience in the field of international development is required.
- Project management and resource mobilization is an asset.
- Proven work experience in writing, editing, reporting in international development is required.
- Demonstrated abilities and track record writing high quality English-language reports and information.
- Excellent understanding of and experience with gender-sensitive and results-based management and reporting is required.
- Experience in reporting in the UN system or its development partners is required.
- Experience in training or coaching in reporting is an asset.
- Must be capable of effectively using MS Word and Excel.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or other advanced degree in social sciences, international development, and/or communications.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
