Overview

The role contributes to UNICEF’s mission by strengthening evidence generation and data systems in the MENA region. It focuses on improving data availability, advancing innovative analytical approaches, and enabling informed decision-making for better child outcomes.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to strengthening statistical and strategic analytical evidence on childhood issues in MENA countries.
  • Generate data, analysis, and public knowledge on child rights, wellbeing, and poverty.
  • Monitor and assess progress in achieving SDGs for children.
  • Strengthen the capacity of UNICEF COs, national governments, and regional partners in MENA to produce and use quality data and analyses on child rights related issues.
  • Contribute to child-focused foresight and predictive analytics considering external factors and potential implications for programmes and policies in the region.
Required Experience

• At least 8 years of relevant work experience in Innovation, Monitoring and Evaluation, Development, Research, Planning, Analytical research experience, MICS survey, Innovative monitoring knowledge, Development exposure, Emergency exposure.

Qualifications

• Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in Social Science, Statistics, International Development, Demography and any other related fields.

• Fluency in English, written and communication skills.
Languages Preferred
• Knowledge of Arabic and/or French highly desirable. • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language
