Overview
Provides accounting, budget administration, cash management, and financial reporting support to ensure efficient and compliant financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review reconciliation submissions and account balances for compliance.
- Coordinate and follow up with related parties on outstanding matters.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closure processes.
- Review finance data in General Ledger for completeness and accuracy.
- Assist in the approval of general ledger vouchers.
- Provide support during internal and external audit processes.
- Prepare analysis on interim and year-end corporate financial statements.
- Support in improving and refining UNOPS financial processes.
- Serve as technical financial expert for the UNOPS ERP system.
- Contribute to the preparation and delivery of training materials.
Required Experience
- Minimum 7 years of relevant working experience in audit, accounting and/or financial reporting.
- Demonstrable proficiency in the use of collaboration and productivity tools (e.g. MS Office, G-Suite, etc) and web-based management systems.
- Experience of working in multicultural environments or UN system organizations in a developing country is desired.
- Experience and knowledge of UNOPS Financial rules and regulations is desired.
- Experience in development or humanitarian contexts is desired.
- Experience with financial systems or ERP software is desired.
Qualifications
- Required: Secondary school (or equivalent) with 7 years of relevant experience OR Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, International Business, Management or other relevant disciplines with 3 years of relevant experience.
- Desired: A Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting Business Administration, International Business, Management or other finance-related fields is desirable.
- Desired: Professional certification (e.g. CPA, ACCA, CA, CIMA) is desired.
