Overview

To provide effective specialized support and technical analyses to policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and assist in the development and implementation of various activities and processes.
  • Provide specialized project management support to specific and/or defined programmes.
  • Prepare a range of reports and data analysis.
  • Ensure and/or perform accurate, timely recording of data.
  • Liaise with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration.
  • Coordinate and communicate with local partners, agencies, NGOs and government institutions.
  • Support the capacity building of WFP staff, cooperating partners and national government.
  • Act as a point of contact for resolution of a range of operational queries and problems.
  • Oversee and/or review the work of other support staff.
  • Follow standard emergency preparedness practices.
  • Lead the drafting, revision and strategic positioning of high-quality funding proposals and concept notes.
  • Support donor engagement, external positioning and high-level representation efforts.
  • Conduct donor intelligence mapping and funding opportunity analysis.
  • Coordinate with programme, reporting, finance and supply chain units.
  • Support the review, analysis and processing of contribution agreements, amendments and partnership frameworks.
  • Support grant registration and contribution management processes.
Required Experience

Has demonstrated experience in donor engagement, resource mobilization, and the drafting or coordination of funding proposals, donor reports and contribution agreements within humanitarian or development contexts. Has experience engaging and coordinating with senior management, government counterparts, donors and external partners in high-level or sensitive contexts. Has demonstrated strong analytical, strategic writing and stakeholder coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams and organizational levels. Has demonstrated experience working in-person in international, regional or multicultural environments and coordinating with diverse stakeholders across different organizational levels.

Qualifications

Completion of secondary school education required. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area. University studies or a university degree in International Relations, Political Science, Development Studies, Communications, Business Administration or other related fields is strongly desirable.
