Overview

Facilitate the coordination of technical activities and foster collaboration on shared projects and initiatives within the Division of Health Promotion, Disease Prevention and Care.


Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the coordination of the division cross-cutting technical activities and foster collaboration on shared projects and initiatives.
  • Support the coordination of scientific collaboration: facilitate scientific partnerships across Divisions, coordinating joint production of technical guidance, tools, and publications.
  • Develop high quality technical briefs and scientific evidence summaries.
  • Coordinate the technical inputs for DO reports: solicit, compile, provide contribution and integrate technical inputs from Division teams into key technical reports, ensuring coherence and technical accuracy.
  • Coordinate and lead scoping and/or rapid reviews, synthesize evidence inform policy and technical guidance, as needed in support to special high-level initiatives.
  • Provide editorial support, technical and scientific review for briefing notes prepared for the ADG and Director-General on the division technical areas in preparation to high-level events and meetings.
  • Liaise with Regional & country offices: engage with regional and country levels to ensure relevance, uptake and alignment of technical outputs produced by divisions.
  • Other technical duties as assigned by first and second level supervisors to support divisional priorities and WHO's scientific agenda.
Required Experience

Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in international public health, including engagement with WHO or comparable global health agencies. Desirable: Experience working in a “front-desk” office, coordinating global health activities across different levels and in leading public health projects.

Qualifications

Essential: Advanced university degree (master's level or higher) in public health, medicine, or a related health-science field. Desirable: PhD in health or public health discipline.

Remuneration
Annual base salary starting at USD 86,027 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 6409 per month for the duty station indicated above. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
