Overview

Provide support in data, monitoring, and social policy-related activities for the UNICEF Panama Country Office. Contribute to quality assurance processes, drafting Terms of Reference, and preparing workplans.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support CO in drafting the first version of a Programme Strategic Note as part of the new Country Programme Document with the Government of Panama, specifically the section on context and child rights situation based on the most current data.
  • Develop the first draft of a workplan World Bank–UNICEF–MIDES on statistical simulations for improving cash transfers with a focus on children.

  • Quality assurance of studies and evaluations
  • Assistance in multilateral and bilateral meetings and events
  • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills;
  • Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners.
  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel;
  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, among others), email, and internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment;
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines
