Overview

Leads the Engineering Branch, providing technical support for the CMRE Programme of Work and contributing to the strategic management of engineering activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain working relationships with PMO and Program Managers.
  • Define and implement Branch’s strategic objectives, planning, and budget.
  • Identify, assess, and introduce new technologies and engineering solutions.
  • Oversee evaluation of technical requirements.
  • Lead and develop the Branch’s engineering workforce.
  • Exercise supervision of engineering projects.
  • Ensure availability and balance of operational capabilities.
  • Support transition of scientific outputs to operational engineering.
  • Ensure Branch activities comply with safety rules, quality policies, and regulations.
  • Plan and ensure proper maintenance and calibration of equipment.
  • Act as principal engineering advisor.
  • Contribute to modernization engineering activities.
  • Oversee Branch’s organizational structure, staffing, recruitment, and succession planning.
Required Experience
  • 5 or more years of senior-level leadership in technology domain (e.g., defence industry, maritime unmanned systems, sensors or instruments).
  • Proven leadership in evolving and challenging environments, including change management and service support.
  • Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing complex projects deliveries.
  • Proven experience evaluating technical requirements from scientific projects.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree from a nationally recognised or certified university in engineering or related scientific discipline and 5 years relevant experience.
  • Or Bachelor’s degree from a nationally recognised or certified university in engineering or related scientific discipline and 8 years relevant experience.
  • Fit for sea certificate in line with IMO and ILO standards before taking up duty.
Other Details
Languages Required
• A thorough knowledge of one of the two NATO languages (written and spoken) is essential.
Languages Preferred
• Some knowledge of the other NATO language is desirable.
Contract Duration
• Three years’ definite duration contract which may be renewed for subsequent periods.
Work Modality
• Duties are performed in an office, laboratory, workshop environment or on-board Centre ships. • May be required to perform duties on-board Centre or chartered vessels. • May be required to undertake TDY assignments.
Remuneration
• 8,412.64 Euro (EUR) Monthly
