Overview
Ensure safe transportation of staff and materials, proper operation of vehicles, record keeping and other administrative duties. The role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile in the event of a major humanitarian emergency.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport staff, partners, and visitors.
- Adhere to Save the Children Driver Safety Rules.
- Ensure all passengers and driver wear seatbelts.
- Keep vehicle clean.
- Maintain and update travel, fuel, repairs and maintenance logs.
- Ensure vehicles contain proper tools, water, spare tire, flares, etc.
- Record and maintain vehicle log book for fleet.
- Follow Preventive Maintenance Management Guidelines.
- Park in secure locations and always lock vehicles when unattended.
- Permit only authorized drivers/passengers to use vehicles.
- Observe traffic laws and speed limits.
- Request repairs or service of vehicles as needed.
- Complete incident reports in the event of accident or theft.
- Carry out administrative responsibilities as requested.
- Assist in loading and unloading of miscellaneous relief supplies.
- Be available outside of normal working hours as requested.
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of driving experience, preferably with NGOs or humanitarian organizations.
- Experience with international organizations preferable.
Qualifications
- Valid Thai driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
- Vocational training in vehicle maintenance with 4x4 light vehicles, preference Toyota trucks and/or experience in 4X4 vehicle driving and on-the-job vehicle maintenance experience.
