Overview
The Debris Recycle Analyst will coordinate engineering and technical day-to-day works to facilitate the sorting, segregation, recycling, and reuse of debris and C&D waste. The role aims to ensure effective and timely implementation of debris management work and provide advisory support for relevant projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate engineering and technical works for debris sorting, segregation, recycling, and reuse.
- Assess debris composition, volume, and recyclability.
- Engage with government, authorities, and private sector on debris management needs.
- Identify and develop opportunities for circular economy principles in reconstruction.
- Facilitate needs assessments and consultations with partners.
- Incorporate innovative methods for debris sorting and crushing.
- Review and appraise engineering designs and technical specifications.
- Ensure compliance with government laws and regulations.
- Prepare specifications, tender documents, and other supportive documents for procurement.
- Lead the development of a comprehensive debris recycling strategy.
- Monitor and report on project activities and targets.
- Coordinate data collection and reporting among different actors.
- Consult on preparation of work plans and related documents.
- Supervise site engineers and demolition & debris removal contractors.
- Monitor field activities and provide technical support.
- Maintain liaison with regional and local project partners.
- Ensure handover of completed works to relevant authorities.
- Participate in relevant meetings and share information.
- Support preparation of project reports.
- Review norms, certification, and other requirements.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits.
- Coordinate the development of innovative recycling approaches and strategies.
- Review and analyze national legislation regarding debris recycling.
- Contribute to preparation of operational and management guidelines.
- Liaise with respective governmental organizations.
- Ensure compliance with UNDP rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Participate in and contribute to knowledge networks and communities of practice.
- Support establishment of knowledge platforms for the project.
Required Experience
- Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are required to have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in demolition, debris removal, recycling, reuse and debris management projects.
- Experience and excellent knowledge of regulations and requirements in the field of construction, demolition and debris management.
- Experience and sound knowledge of civil, environmental, urban engineering and modern construction technology.
- Experience in demolition, debris removal, recycling, reuse and debris management projects is an advantage.
- Familiarity with national legislation in the area of construction, norms and standards of construction works and materials, including critical infrastructures.
- Experience and knowledge of procedures for quality control procedures.
Qualifications
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Environment Engineering, Architecture, Urban Engineering, Social Science or related field is required.
