Overview
The Programme Management Officer (SLT) will support the implementation and coordination of the Saving Lives Together (SLT) Framework, ensuring cooperation on security issues between the United Nations and partner organizations for safer humanitarian and development activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops, implements and evaluates the overall workplan for the SLT Framework globally.
- Acts as the Global SLT Focal Point for UNDSS at Headquarters in New York.
- Manages and maintains contact with global network of SLT focal points in the field.
- Researches, analyzes and presents information gathered from diverse sources.
- Coordinates policy development.
- Generates survey initiatives; designs data collection tools; reviews, analyzes and interprets responses.
- Organizes and prepares written outputs.
- Provides substantive backstopping to consultative and other meetings.
- Initiates and coordinates outreach activities; conducts training workshops, seminars, etc.
- Coordinates activities related to budget funding and prepares related documents/reports.
- Collects and analyzes data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights using data visualization methods.
- Performs other duties as required.
Required Experience
- A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration or related area is required.
- At least two years of experience in data analytics or related area is required.
- At least two years of international humanitarian field experience in the United Nations Common System or similar international organizations, in conflict or post-conflict settings, is required.
- Demonstrated experience in operational coordination and security support to United Nations entities, INGOs (international non-governmental organizations), and NGOs (non-governmental organizations) is required.
Qualifications
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics or a related field.
- A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is an advantage.
