Overview
Develop the CEO Endorsement Request package for a GEF project focused on mainstreaming biodiversity in productive sectors, specifically responsible sand value chains for coastal resilience in West Africa. The consultant will provide guidance and review draft inputs for national teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Work-plan for national teams, and annotated guidance for the completion of the GEF CEO Endorsement template and Annexes.
- Participate and provide inputs/guidance in online meetings, and bilateral discussions with consultants and UNEP.
- Draft Theory of Change based on completed baseline work by national consultants.
- Provide iterative detailed review of draft inputs to the CEO Endorsement Template and Annexes; and review and detailed comments (including editing where possible) of final completed documents.
Required Experience
- Demonstrable experience in the development and design of GEF projects and/or programmes is required.
- Experience with project development, implementation, management and monitoring and evaluation of sustainable development projects, in particular in the areas of biodiversity and ecosystem management is desirable.
- Demonstrable expertise in managing relationships and developing and maintaining strategic partnerships including across government and non-government actors is desirable.
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in environmental sciences, international development or other relevant political or social sciences area is required.
- A first-level university degree, combined with two additional years of relevant professional experience in the required field, may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
