Overview
This consultancy aims to develop strategies for increasing cash impact at scale within humanitarian contexts, focusing on identifying promising innovations and driving sector-wide change.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and prioritize promising innovations and new ways of working for greater cash impact.
- Develop 'pathway models' for selected innovations, detailing proposition, investment, prize, risks, and first steps.
- Prepare pitch materials for innovation pathways.
- Analyze IRC's positioning within the CVA sector and identify levers for change.
- Develop 2-3 distinct 'disruption models' for sector change.
- Assess how disruption models position IRC for funding and partnerships.
- Produce a written strategy report on positive disruption approach.
- Create supporting materials including executive summaries, case for change, and presentations.
Required Experience
- Minimum 10 years of senior-level experience in cash and voucher assistance in humanitarian contexts.
- Demonstrable track record of influence at strategic level and practical field-level CVA implementation.
- Proven experience in developing CVA strategy and translating strategy into operational reality.
- Strong grasp of the global CVA sector architecture.
- Demonstrated expertise in CVA themes and innovation, with a focus on at least one of: new delivery mechanisms, digital financial services, responsible AI and technology applications, social protection linkages, financial inclusion, or alternative targeting and identification models.
- Experience engaging non-traditional actors in CVA design or delivery.
- Documented public thought leadership in CVA.
- Ability to facilitate and drive collaborative decision-making processes with senior stakeholders.
Qualifications
• University degree at Master’s level or above in a relevant field (international development, economics, public policy, or related discipline).
