Overview
The MHPSS Senior Officer will supervise and manage MHPSS staff to ensure the effective implementation of activities aligned with IRC’s health strategy and plans, coordinating schedules with local communities and authorities to guarantee accessible and available services.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise MHPSS staff and ensure smooth implementation of MHPSS activities.
- Prepare regular schedules of MHPSS team work in coordination with local communities and relevant authorities.
- Conduct rapid assessments to identify MHPSS needs and potential responses.
- Perform regular field visits to monitor MHPSS activities and ensure adherence to protocols.
- Assist in MEAL activities through supervision, data collection, and client feedback.
- Oversee MHPSS data registration, collection, and ensure timely database entry and reporting.
- Participate in the preparation of weekly and monthly reports.
- Assist the Pharmacist in ordering, storing, and distributing medicines, supplies, and equipment.
- Represent IRC in local coordination meetings.
- Ensure MHPSS staff understand and comply with IRC security protocols.
- Conduct onboarding of new employees.
- Foster a supportive and goal-driven team environment.
Required Experience
- Minimum two years of experience related to the role.
- Trained on, and experienced in utilizing evidence-based psychological interventions (eg., IPT, CBT, TF-CBT, EMDR…).
- Theoretical and operational knowledge and experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in healthcare programs.
- Experience in NGOs.
Qualifications
• Psychologist (with a master’s degree in clinical psychology or counselling psychology)
