Overview
The Finance and Administrative Assistant will support the implementation of Durable Solutions programmes in Syria by providing administrative, financial, and operational assistance. The role contributes to the smooth delivery of project activities through timely follow-up, accurate record-keeping, and reliable administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain programme financial records and monitoring systems.
- Prepare financial documentation for clearances and payments.
- Address and answer queries from staff, consultants, and counterparts.
- Review financial reports of implementing partners.
- Provide administrative and financial backstopping support.
- Liaise with relevant units for administrative and operational tasks.
- Update and maintain project financial tracking tools.
- Assist in preparing donor reports, budget preparation, audits, and verification missions.
- Support procurement of project goods, services, and consultancies.
- Provide office management, administrative, and logistical support for events.
- Draft official correspondence in English and Arabic.
- Arrange meetings and appointments.
- Take notes or minutes at meetings.
- Provide administrative and logistical arrangements for official travel.
- Monitor and evaluate administrative activities.
- Maintain filing and archiving systems for documents.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Required Experience
At least five years of relevant experience in the area of administrative and financial support. Similar experience with the United National Common System and/or International Organisation is an advantage.
