Overview
The Payroll Administrator will support the unit in the timely and accurate processing of payroll for locally recruited staff worldwide, under the supervision of the Payroll Manager and National Payroll Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Check accuracy and validity of input calculations/coding.
- Input payments and deductions into the system.
- Assist in validating changes in salary scales, allowances, and payroll master data.
- Input and verify banking details for new staff and subsequent changes.
- Follow-up with offices for necessary adjustments and corrections.
- Provide relevant payroll reports to missions.
- Liaise with focal points for payroll-related matters.
- Update projectization percentages and reconcile discrepancies.
- Update statistical reports and queries; check electronic data output and take corrective measures.
- Reconcile accounts monthly or periodically.
- Work closely with colleagues to address queries related to staff salary.
- Run and verify reports, prepare calculations, make/amend data entries, and propose actions to supervisor.
- Stay abreast of changes in human resources policies related to benefits and allowances.
- Ensure proper electronic filing.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Required Experience
- Three (3) years of relevant work experience if holding a university degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- Five (5) years of relevant work experience if holding a high-school diploma.
- Experience in direct payroll functions, preferably in a corporate payroll operation.
- Knowledge of banking and accounting systems.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Knowledge of business risk controls.
- Experience with SAP HR and payroll system and applications, an advantage.
- IT-ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Functional Knowledge an advantage.
Qualifications
- Completed university degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or
- High-school diploma.
- Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) an advantage.
