Overview

The internship focuses on public management topics, including results-based management, institutional planning, monitoring and evaluation, and digital government. The intern will support research, analyze trends, and contribute to knowledge products.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support research into public management issues.
  • Analyze current trends and specific experiences in each country.
  • Prepare draft texts, infographics, and other knowledge products.
  • Assist in the management and updating of the ILPES Regional Planning Observatory.
  • Systematize experiences of territorialization of the SDGs.
  • Prepare various reports, presentations, charts, graphs, lists, tables, and/or diagrams.
  • Prepare summaries and bibliographic descriptions.
  • Transfer content to applications such as Canva, Genially, and others.
  • Perform other tasks as required.
Required Experience

Experience in public administration, public policy and/or social sciences is desirable. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. A field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher). Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.

Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
