Overview
The Supply Chain Officer will provide strategic and operational leadership for integrated supply chain operations, ensuring efficient and compliant delivery of services to support programme objectives and beneficiary needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and implementation of supply chain plans and procedures.
- Provide substantive contributions to country context analyses and management of end-to-end operational supply chain and retail networks.
- Contribute to planning and implementation of supply chain operations, initiatives and services.
- Perform analyses and detailed conceptual work putting together comprehensive reports.
- Conduct regular financial analysis and budget reviews.
- Build and maintain productive partnerships with counterparts in key supply chain functions.
- Build and maintain productive partnerships with supply chain counterparts amongst government and other national organizations, UN agencies, NGOs and private sector.
- Provide technical contribution to market analysis and supply chain network mapping.
- Support management of supply chain operations, in compliance with established strategies, policies, procedures and controls.
- Support the monitoring of supply chain activities.
- Support management of service providers/vendors, port, fleet and warehouse operations.
- Prepare accurate, comprehensive and timely reports, dashboards and other visual materials on supply chain activities.
- Guide and supervise staff.
- Contribute to preparedness actions and support quick emergency response.
- Lead the Supply Chain Unit, with a strong focus on logistics operations.
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and performance of end-to-end logistics operations.
- Oversee the management of logistics service providers.
- Ensure effective logistics and supply chain planning processes.
- Ensure robust monitoring of logistics and supply chain performance.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and regulatory frameworks.
- Ensure food safety and quality standards are embedded across logistics and supply chain operations.
- Coordinate with relevant partners.
- Ensure preparedness and readiness of logistics and supply chain systems for emergency response.
Required Experience
- At least three (03) years of postgraduate professional experience in Supply Chain, Logistics or other related areas.
- Experience in leading and supervising teams
- Experience in coordinating and delivering integrated supply chain operations across multiple functions and stakeholders, including partners
- Experience in planning and optimizing logistics networks and supply chain systems
- Experience in partner engagement and delivery of client-oriented supply chain services
- Experience in translating strategy into effective operational planning and implementation of end-to-end supply chain solutions
Qualifications
Advanced University degree preferably in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Logistics, or other related field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses.
