Overview

This role is responsible for the strategic, operational, and representative leadership of WFP in the assigned territory, ensuring effective and efficient program implementation and operations. It also involves positioning WFP with local authorities and partners, promoting alliances, and managing risks.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the field office, ensuring a cohesive, motivated, and high-performing team.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise operations, ensuring effective and timely assistance delivery.
  • Ensure efficient and transparent use of resources, aligning with approved plans.
  • Assume responsibility for the security of personnel, operations, facilities, and assets.
  • Participate in the Area Security Management Team (ASMT).
  • Supervise monitoring and evaluation of activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with local authorities.
  • Lead the development of strategic alliances with governmental entities, UN agencies, NGOs, the private sector, and other key actors.
  • Ensure regular presence in intervention areas, including field visits.
  • Exercise close and effective leadership of the office team, promoting a safe, inclusive, and respectful work environment.
  • Maintain close coordination with technical units in the country office.
  • Ensure the technical and strategic soundness of proposals and the programmatic portfolio.
  • Drive institutional and technical capacity building of the field team and implementing partners.
  • Represent WFP in localization processes and lead Territorial Action Plans (PAT).
  • Respond effectively to country office requirements, ensuring fluid communication.
Required Experience
  • 5 years of experience in humanitarian assistance and social development projects after postgraduate degree, or professional degree with two (2) additional years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in the analysis of political contexts and territorial dynamics.
  • Experience in managing medium-level financial resources.
  • Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Work experience in the geographic area of intervention or similar contexts.
Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree (Specialization or Master's) in Economic Sciences, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Administrative Sciences, or similar fields.
