Overview

The JPO Logistics Officer will contribute to the development of logistics plans and processes, and support or manage logistics projects or operational activities to ensure the effective delivery of food assistance.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of logistics plans and processes.
  • Support or manage logistics projects or operational activities.
  • Gather information on the overall logistics situation in the region.
  • Collect and analyse data to recommend actions to improve local logistics operations.
  • Contribute to pipeline planning and manage operational aspects of the supply chain.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other Country Office units.
  • Collate data and contribute to accurate and timely reporting.
  • Support capacity building of WFP staff and partners.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with logistics colleagues.
  • Follow emergency logistics preparedness practices.
  • Participate in the preparation of Country Office Logistics Capacity Assessments.
  • Participate in review of internal processes and procedures.
  • Act in an assigned emergency response capacity as required.
  • Produce logistics reports in a standardised format.
  • Update key logistics procedures.
  • Update key logistics maps.
Required Experience

Minimum of two years of professional relevant work experience in logistics or supply chain.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree in supply chain management, data sciences, business administration, engineering, development studies, disaster management/ disaster risk reduction or other related field.
