Overview
The Humanitarian Representation Officer supports the EU Representative in external and internal functions, providing analytical, strategic, administrative, and logistical assistance to MSF's humanitarian representation towards the EU system.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as principal analyst and advisor to the EU REP on EU policies, funding, legislation, and institutions' agendas.
- Monitor regional trends in humanitarian response, foreign policy, funding, military action, and political processes.
- Conduct in-depth research to inform MSF's engagement with EU institutions and agencies.
- Expand actor mapping and contribute to stakeholder analysis across the European Union.
- Maintain and update internal and external contacts databases and mailing lists.
- Liaise with and participate in NGO groups and civil society actors.
- Attend meetings, take minutes, analyze outcomes, and report back to the EU REP.
- Represent MSF and deputise for the EU REP when requested.
- Support the EU REP with drafting positioning/talking points and official correspondences.
- Report on HRT EU activities, including engagement trackers and monthly updates.
- Upload relevant information to MSF Internal SharePoint websites.
- Support the preparation of Interdesk meetings' agendas and note-taking.
- Contribute to the HRT Europe Platform coordination and dissemination.
- Provide ad-hoc support to the organization of events, including logistics.
Required Experience
• Experience of at least 2 years in similar positions with humanitarian organisations or in positions related to EU institutions.
Qualifications
• Degree in Political Science, International Relations, International Development, Humanitarian Affairs or another relevant field.
