Overview

The internship is in the Social Media Section of the Department of Global Communications, responsible for social media activities and integration of social media platforms.


Key Responsibilities
  • Research, compile, draft and edit basic information for social media content.
  • Monitor and analyze statistics related to social media content.
  • Gather social media content at special events.
  • Assist in the creation of original content for social media platforms.
  • Attend meetings as an observer.
  • Manage meeting agendas and draft meeting notes.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualifications
  • Enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
  • Student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.

Languages Required
Fluency in English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of another official language of the United Nations (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) or Portuguese, Kiswahili or Hindi is desirable.
Contract Duration
3 months, with the possibility to extend to up to six months.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
