Overview
The Accounting & Finance Associate role focuses on ensuring the efficient financial recording, accounting, and reporting to support management oversight and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and assist with financial reports, data compilation, and queries.
- Verify invoices, calculations, and submissions.
- Monitor and reconcile expenditures, balances, and payments.
- Select, verify, and enter data from diverse sources.
- Prepare scheduled and ad-hoc reports.
- Support account closure and assist in preparing year-end financial statements.
- Provide guidance to staff and consultants on financial matters.
- Initiate communication to verify data and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain relationships with local banks and prepare reconciliations.
- Prepare cost estimates and contribute to budget analysis.
Required Experience
- Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience in the area of finance and accounting is required.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is an advantage.
Qualifications
- Completion of Secondary Education is required.
- Professional and/or university courses related to finance, accounting are highly desirable.
