Overview
The Early Refugee School Impact (ERSI) Specialist implements, coordinates, and supports early childhood programming for refugee families with children ages 0-5. The role focuses on program coordination, resource development, and connecting caregivers to relevant services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop resources and expand partnerships to promote refugee family success.
- Nurture partnerships with childcare centers and preschool service providers.
- Assess quality practices and program outcomes, maintaining data and reports.
- Serve as a community focal point for referrals to educational programs.
- Design and implement programs, activities, workshops, and services.
- Identify and connect with licensed childcare providers and preschools.
- Conduct outreach and educate caregivers on enrollment benefits.
- Liaise between childcare providers, preschools, parents, and colleagues.
- Conduct intakes with program participants to assess needs.
- Assist caregivers with applications for childcare and financial resources.
- Lead and facilitate educational workshops, meetings, and events.
- Provide follow-up with providers and families to assess childcare plan effectiveness.
- Conduct pre- and post-assessments of caregivers’ understanding.
- Ensure required intake documents are completed and service plans updated.
- Participate in program meetings and staff development activities.
- Work as part of a team to provide comprehensive services.
Required Experience
- Proven experience in web-based data entry systems.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, active insurance policy, access to reliable transportation and the ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, early childhood education, or related field of study is preferred.
