Overview
The Strategic Engagement Advisor is responsible for engaging a wide range of stakeholders to advance energy transition goals and provide technical advice on raising awareness and identifying key actors for transition pathways.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with facilitation of strategic multi-stakeholder dialogue on energy transition and economic diversification.
- Monitor energy transition trends, stakeholder positions, and policy developments.
- Participate in establishing and maintaining trusted relationships with key stakeholders.
- Participate in the synthetization of technical reports into actionable engagement strategies.
- Collaborate with UNEP, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, BOGA and Universidade de Campinas teams.
- Provide technical inputs in project execution and coordination.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of workshops, forums, technical dialogues, and bilateral meetings.
- Collaborate with technical experts to ensure capacity-building content reflects current trends.
- Prepare various written outputs as draft background papers, analysis, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications.
- Ensure strategic alignment between engagement activities and communication outputs.
- Contribute to reports elaborated by UNICAMP team.
- Participate in policy integration by providing technical advice.
- Contribute with technical guidance on global transition pathways and Paris-aligned scenarios.
- Provide strategic assessments to facilitate alignment between stakeholder interests and policy objectives.
Required Experience
- Two (2) years of experience in field relevant to climate change, with strong experience of engaging government officials and industry to deliver policy change is required.
- Knowledge of national policies on climate change and/or cooling in Brazil is desirable.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills on energy, urban planning, buildings and environmental related topics is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical assistance, including through project management and policy development, to governments and other stakeholders is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability in multi-stakeholder process and stakeholder engagement is desirable.
- Experience in working with the UN System and at international level is desirable.
- Experience with Brazil’s public sector institutions is desirable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, International Relations, Environmental Sciences, Management, Political Sciences, Economical Sciences, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related area of study is required.
- Master’s degree in Public Administration, International Relations, Environmental Sciences, Management, Political Sciences, Economical Sciences, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related area of study is desirable.
