Overview
The Associate on Countering Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants will support UNODC's regional programmes in Central Asia by contributing to planning, data collection, implementation, and monitoring efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of UNODC prevention and awareness-raising activities on trafficking in persons.
- Assist with data collection, desk research, and basic analysis related to trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants.
- Provide organizational and substantive support to workshops, trainings, and capacity-building activities.
- Contribute to the preparation of progress reports and donor updates.
- Support knowledge-sharing and coordination across UNODC offices, projects, and implementing partners.
- Assist in drafting, editing, and disseminating communication and visibility materials.
Required Experience
- Demonstrated interest or experience (up to 2 years) in:
- Projects with law enforcement on countering trafficking in persons or organized crime
- Crime prevention and criminal justice
- Research, data analysis, and program monitoring
- Drafting and editing communication materials, reports
- Organizing and supporting capacity-building activities
- Previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience of another culture, (i.e. studies, volunteer work, internship) would be highly regarded.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in law, political science, social sciences, international relations or public administration
