Overview

The HR Assistant will provide administrative and HR support to the Human Resources sub-team, in accordance with WHO Staff Rules and Regulations, WHO Manual provisions and policies. The role supports various HR functions including recruitment, contract administration, and staff entitlements.


Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate HR transactions in the Global Management System (GSM) for position actions, hiring, contract management, and staff entitlements.
  • Advise on reasons for HRAP rejections and support staff in using the self-service module.
  • Monitor and report on HR actions, including appointments ending and separation actions.
  • Liaise with specialized HR Officers and the Global Human Resources services for follow-up on actions.
  • Perform recruitment and selection process actions in Stellis, including requisition initiation, vacancy notice publishing, candidate prescreening, and onboarding.
  • Hire freelance translators as directed.
  • Serve as back-up to team members for their portfolio of clusters.
  • Perform any other related duties as required.
Required Experience

At least 5 years of experience in administrative positions, preferably in WHO, encompassing personnel matters. Experience in interpreting personnel rules and procedures, and administration of staff entitlements. An in-depth knowledge of WHO Rules and Regulations, WHO Manual, and experience or knowledge of staff entitlements is highly desirable.

Qualifications

Completion of secondary school or equivalent, and training in personnel/human resources management.

Remuneration
Annual net base salary starting at XAF 11,933,000 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
