Overview
The Project Assistant- Camp Monitoring & Coordination (WASH) will be responsible for the implementation of field level WASH services of Implementing Partners and Operational Partners, and strengthening the technical capacity of partners' field staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute towards achieving WASH project objectives.
- Support implementing partners to develop effective work plans.
- Assist in developing plans of action for WASH activities.
- Promote community participation and ownership.
- Carry out regular field visits for monitoring and provide feedback.
- Prepare camp progress reports using Kobo monitoring tools.
- Participate in WASH needs assessments.
- Participate in camp coordination meetings and other working groups.
- Maintain collaboration with local administration and stakeholders.
- Ensure technical records are prepared and maintained by partners.
- Implement the WASH project monitoring & evaluation plan.
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisors.
Required Experience
- Experience in participating in medium to large scale construction and community-based projects.
- Experience working with local communities, corporations, and national entities.
- Experience of construction, bore whole drilling and WASH activity supervision and monitoring.
- Work experience with international humanitarian organizations and non-government organizations in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
- Team-work oriented, capacity to work independently.
- Experience in working effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong coordination, monitoring and evaluation, analytical, project development, liaison and reporting skills.
Qualifications
- Completed university degree in Civil engineering, Water engineering, Environmental science, Social Science, Anthropology, Community development or any other degree in relevant field from an accredited academic institution with at least three years’ experience, or
- An accredited diploma with at least five years of relevant experience.
