Overview

The role holder will be responsible for designing, adapting, and implementing robust child safeguarding systems that adhere to effective Safeguarding standards and compliance mechanism. This position will involve capacity building, monitoring, enforcing compliance and accountability, management, and investigation, as well as advocacy.


Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure safeguarding mechanism is in place, effectively implemented, monitored and reviewed.
  • Deliver safeguarding, fraud, bribery, and corruption awareness sessions.
  • Review and develop safeguarding and fraud training materials.
  • Ensure child safeguarding implementation plans and related costs are reflected in budgets and proposals.
  • Ensure SCI reporting systems are functional and promote awareness of reporting channels.
  • Support the end-to-end investigation process for safeguarding and fraud-related cases.
  • Support maintaining SCI’s case management KPI timeline.
  • Liaise and collaborate with relevant stakeholders for survivor care and referral support.
  • Maintain case management records.
  • Facilitate timely completion of agreed case actions.
  • Ensure reporter feedback and complaints feedback mechanisms are in place and accessible.
  • Ensure Volunteer Management System (VMS) guidance is effectively implemented.
  • Ensure volunteer information is accurately maintained and updated in VMS.
  • Participate in recruitment and interview processes as assigned.
  • Support the identification of risks to children and adults and contribute to mitigation measures.
  • Support/deliver contextualized training/workshops.
  • Provide technical support to safeguarding Focal persons.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Increase safeguarding collaboration with program, MEAL, CO safeguarding, and Rakhine Region Management Team.
  • Work with SCI program teams to ensure child/adult/staff safety is paramount.
  • Support the People & Culture Director/National Safeguarding Lead in implementing the Safeguarding policies self-audit action plan.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a related field.
  • Strong experience in safeguarding.
  • Experience in policy development, manuals, procedures and implementation on Child Safeguarding, Fraud, Anti-harassment.
  • Strong experience of children-related programming.
  • Experience in conducting assessments, monitoring and evaluation, strong analysis and writing reports.
  • Strong experience in facilitating trainings to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in building networks, working collaboratively with colleagues across the organization developing effective working relationships.
Qualifications
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree, with at least 3 years’ experience in a related field.
  • University degree or equivalent qualification in finance and accounting

• Proficiency in the local language is required. • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
