Overview

The National Project Officer (NP1) will contribute to the implementation of extra-budgetary projects within the Economic and Environmental Dimension (EED) of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan (PCUz). The role focuses on supporting the "Platform for Environment and Climate Engagement in Central Asia (PEaCE CA)" project.


Key Responsibilities
  • Implements and co-ordinates extra-budgetary projects and activities relating to economic and environmental issues.
  • Establishes and maintains contacts with government officials, institutions, donors, and OSCE structures.
  • Co-ordinates project implementation by identifying problems and proposing actions.
  • Drafts comments on project progress and inputs to project monitoring.
  • Drafts project revisions, including adjustments to budgets.
  • Prepares correspondence, organizes official visits, conferences, workshops, and meetings.
  • Drafts concept notes and terms of reference for project consultants and requests for proposals.
  • Oversees technical support of the Green Digital Platform.
Required Experience
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in project management in research, academic, government, civil society, international organization, or private sector institution dealing with environmental issues.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including procurement or contracts administration, preferably acquired in an international organization or a mission environment.
  • Experience in supervising joint international and national (government and/or NGO) projects.
  • Experience in consulting and corresponding with government representatives.
  • Experience working with digital platforms and/or repositories is preferred.
Qualifications

• First-level university degree in environmental studies, economics, development, international relations, or related fields.

Remuneration
Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deduction, is USD 2152.00 as per the relevant OSCE salary scale. Appointments are normally made at Step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale. In exceptional cases, an initial appointment at up to Step 3 may be considered.
