Overview

The Finance Intern will support the Finance Unit in implementing operational strategies and procedures, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing accounting and administrative support.


Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure full compliance with UN/UNDP rules and regulations of financial processes, financial records and reports.
  • Provide inputs to elaboration of work plans.
  • Assist in preparation of financial analyses and related reports.
  • Conduct analysis on the workflow of the finance unit and produce a report on process optimization.
  • Liaise with other United Nations agencies for information relating to financial transactions.
  • Verify and process financial documentation and maintain internal expenditures control system.
  • Follow up with other teams for information relating to financial transactions.
  • Assist to analyze and monitor financial related dashboards.
  • Maintain the proper filing system for financial records and documents.
Required Experience

Experience in the usage of online database or data management tools.

Qualifications
  • Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme, or higher);
  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelor’s degree or equivalent);
  • Have recently graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation;
  • Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program.
  • Major in Accounting/Finance would be desirable, but it is not a requirement.

Remuneration
UNDP will provide a stipend, at the rate determined in accordance with UNDP internship policy, unless the intern is financially supported by any institution or programme. If intern is financially supported by a sponsor, UNDP will pay the difference, if any, between the financial support provided by the sponsor and the applicable UNDP stipend.
