Overview
The Finance Intern will support the Finance Unit in implementing operational strategies and procedures, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing accounting and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with UN/UNDP rules and regulations of financial processes, financial records and reports.
- Provide inputs to elaboration of work plans.
- Assist in preparation of financial analyses and related reports.
- Conduct analysis on the workflow of the finance unit and produce a report on process optimization.
- Liaise with other United Nations agencies for information relating to financial transactions.
- Verify and process financial documentation and maintain internal expenditures control system.
- Follow up with other teams for information relating to financial transactions.
- Assist to analyze and monitor financial related dashboards.
- Maintain the proper filing system for financial records and documents.
Required Experience
Experience in the usage of online database or data management tools.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme, or higher);
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelor’s degree or equivalent);
- Have recently graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation;
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program.
- Major in Accounting/Finance would be desirable, but it is not a requirement.
