Overview
The consultant will provide technical expertise and implement activities related to the IAEA's response to worldwide nuclear and radiological events, fulfilling legal obligations under international conventions. This includes preparing, implementing, and evaluating exercises, developing documentation, and providing training.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice in the implementation of the IEC's operational roles in response to nuclear and radiological incidents and emergencies.
- Evaluate relevant information and feedback from the response to nuclear and radiological incidents and emergencies and from exercises to identify trends and areas for further improvement of the IAEA's international response arrangements.
- Prepare and conduct activities related to the preparation, conduct and evaluation of nuclear and radiological emergency response exercises, including the development of relevant documentation and the provision of related training.
- Contribute technical expertise for the preparation of the CAM report and design a methodology to collect feedback from Member States regarding the implementation of CAM recommendations.
- Provide relevant expertise to the IEC and participate in meetings, workshops, trainings and exercises, as required.
Required Experience
A minimum of five years' experience in nuclear or radiological emergency preparedness, with particular emphasis on the planning and execution of emergency exercises.
Qualifications
University degree in nuclear science, engineering, emergency management, or a related technical or scientific field.
