Overview
The Coordinator – Advocacy & Communications will support the Head of Communications, Media and Campaigns in developing and implementing advocacy strategy and plans, and advocacy and communications products.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head of Communications, Media and Campaigns in developing and implementing the Rohingya advocacy strategy and plans.
- Develop advocacy and communications products such as talking points, research reports and external lobbying activities.
- Work with the programmes team on the integration of advocacy and programmes.
- Support programme teams to develop and carry out child participatory advocacy and campaigning activities.
- Ensure key advocacy messages and strategies are informed and shaped by the response and Save the Children’s programmes.
- Ensure key advocacy messages are shared and communicated within Save the Children.
- Seek clarification on any politically sensitive matters which may have an impact on programme operations.
- Identify and develop relationships with key stakeholders at local and national levels.
- Support the Head of CMC in developing and managing relationships with Save the Children Members and advocacy offices, and the Asia Regional Office.
Required Experience
- Minimum 3+ years in journalism, communications, or media relations with proven success in securing media coverage and handling press activities.
- Strong understanding of the local and national media landscape, with established media contacts and experience managing social media platforms.
- Ability to work independently under pressure, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and collaborate across teams effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, e.g., Social Sciences/ Communications/ English.
- Solid computer skills, basic social media analytics knowledge, and strong documentation and communication background.
