The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator develops and implements the IAEA's policy and strategy for enhancing Member States' preparedness for response to nuclear and radiological incidents and emergencies.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in preparedness and response to nuclear and radiological incidents and emergencies, and in radiation protection, of which at least five years at the managerial level and three years at international level in the development of Safety Standards, technical guidelines and tools in preparedness and response to nuclear and radiological incidents and emergencies irrespective of the initiating cause. Experience in developing national response plans, and in developing and appraising of the national emergency preparedness and response arrangements.
Advanced university degree in nuclear physics, nuclear engineering, radiation protection or a related field. A first level university degree in nuclear physics, nuclear engineering, radiation protection or a related field plus two years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the advanced university degree. A doctorate degree in nuclear physics, nuclear engineering, radiation protection or a related field would be an asset.
